Sad but true, our camping season has concluded. It was a short but VERY sweet trip to Sleepy Hollow State Park.
I will say this much, we WILL be going back to this campground!!!! It is beautiful, quiet, the upkeep is remarkable! And the park rangers are super friendly and helpful. We have zero negative to say about this campground!!!
We took a drive around on our last day to scope out all the other sites to see if there were any that we liked (or we could fit in) better then our current site (173). Nope, we really didn’t find any, there were a couple possibilities but I don’t think we will chance it. We had a huge side yard off door side that was absolutely perfect for our doggies, with plenty of room for them to roan even on a tie out.
We were camping with some friends of ours that had a site up the hill and around the corner from ours. A nice short walk.
One of the many highlights of this camping stay was the fishing, something in which Bruce was VERY anxious to do. Tons of little fish were caught each time he went but no keepers and when I asked him if he was disappointed that he didn’t catch any keepers he replied….
Even our doggies got to take part in the fishing expedition!
“I Am Just Happy To Be Fishing Again”
All in all it was a fabulous, relaxing and fun get away! The company of our friends was a bonus. Did I mention there was ZERO cell service?!?! It was WONDERFUL and so the short little rain systems that rolled thru, we were able to get some serious cribbage playing done and enjoy a few adult beverages under the awning relaxing in comfy chairs 🙂
